Have peace of mind knowing that your family will be provided for in the event of your death. Life insurance provides money directly to your beneficiaries and can be used to make up for lost income, pay off debts, pay for funeral expenses, or fund educational costs. Both Term and Permanent are available.
Types of Life Insurance
- Term Life
Often the lower cost option, this policy provides life insurance for a limited period of time (or “term”), similar to an auto policy. The premium of this policy increases with age, thus making it well-suited for young adults. It does not hold a cash value as is typical of most permanent life policies like whole or universal—however, it does pay out benefits if a death occurs while the policy is in effect.
- Whole Life
Sometimes referred to as “permanent insurance” or “ordinary life,” this is a policy designed to stay in effect throughout one’s lifetime. Combining death benefits and cash savings, this policy is well suited for those seeking family protection or accumulating funds for retirement.
- Universal Life
Like Whole Life policies, Universal plans offer death benefits and a cash value—however, this policy separates these benefits, allowing the policy owner to modify the amount or premium of each policy individually. This offers increased savings options and flexibility.
Accidents and illness can force you out of work, leaving your finances in jeopardy. Ensure that your family is taken care of with disability insurance. Short term and long term policies are available.
Types of Disability Insurance
- Short-term Disability
Provides income protection coverage from the date of disability for a specific period of time and terms—typically no longer than two years. With a 0 to 14 day waiting period, this type of disability insurance usually covers initial periods of disability, before long-term disability plans begin.
- Long-term Disability
Provides coverage in the event of extended disability and helps maintain an individual’s income during the period of disability. Long-term disability typically has a waiting period of several weeks to several months.
